Leiden is a Cuban-Mexican singer-songwriter, activist, and sociologist. She was awarded Artist of the Year at the 2023 Symphonic Latino Awards, and has been nominated for Cubadisco Awards (Cuba), Estela Awards (Guatemala), Monster Music Awards (Mexico) 2025, and the BIME Equity Awards powered by Amazon Music in the “New Talents” category (2021). Recognized as one of the most important voices of the new Latin American song movement, her music fuses Latin roots with avant-garde rhythms and genres, featuring innovative, rhythmic, and high-quality production. She has released five studio albums and a live DVD, and has collaborated with renowned artists such as Celso Piña, Aterciopelados, Torreblanca, and Vivir Quintana, among many others. She has performed in Czech Republic, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, Costa Rica, Brazil, Panama, Chile, and Argentina, and has participated in major festivals and venues in Mexico, including Vive Latino, Cervantino, Coordenada, Teatro de la Ciudad, and Lunario of the National Auditorium. Her songs “Tu Boca” and “Cuando Soñaba” have surpassed millions of streams, and her piece “Hasta Salvarnos” has been performed by over 40 women around the world. Leiden has composed music for films, TV series, documentaries, short films, and stage productions, including writing and performing the main songs for the second season of the series “Mujeres Asesinas”. She is the creator and director of “Volver al Corazón”, a project where she works with incarcerated women to compose testimonial songs through collective creation sessions with a humanistic lens. She is also the founder and director of Jueves Music, the first women-led record label in Mexico. Leiden is a TEDx speaker, with her talk titled “Lyrics of Freedom.”
